New Facebook Group for the WRBA
The private Facebook group is a place for conversation, asking questions, giving and getting recommendations, and building community through the COVID pandemic.
As COVID-19 hit our area a lot of the work we at the WRBA had planned came to a screeching halt. The world local small businesses has been changing day after day since then. Early on I flipped through plans for what would be the best way to support small businesses. I worked on online documents communicating updated ways to support small businesses, then I turned to researching and keeping businesses informed of resources available through stimulus packages. All of it was hard to communicate to the WRBA community through the whirlwind we were all going through.
Now, we are starting a new chapter in our work. SENA funding over the next few years is more uncertain than ever before, and it is clear to me and the SENA board that the best way for the WRBA to do better work, and to become a meaningful and sustainable part of the world of small business in this area is to step out from under SENA’s wing.
In working towards that, we have created a group on Facebook called the Owners & Managers of the West of the Rail Business Association, and all WRBA area small business owners are invited to join!
This will be a place to have conversations, share recommendations, ask questions of each other and get to know a little bit about who else is working through the extra struggle of being a small business owner during this pandemic.
